Heirloom Photo Process: What to Expect

Booking Your Session

Once you’ve decided to invest in heirloom photography, the first step is setting a date. I know how busy family life can be, so I’ll work with you to find a time that suits your schedule perfectly. Most of my Heirloom sessions are weekday mornings, with some weekend availability.

Studio or In Home Session?

I want you to be comfortable and relaxed to capture authentic smiles and genuine expressions for heirloom photos. That’s why I offer two location options:

1. My Home Studio: A cozy, controlled environment perfect for creating intimate portraits.
2. Your Home: If you want the comfort of your home, you can have me bring the studio to your home.

Both options have their charms, and we’ll discuss which would work best for your family’s needs and preferences.

The Heirloom Photo Session Experience

On the day of your session, all you need to do is show up and shower your little ones with love. I’ve taken care of all the details, including styling. My curated collection of dresses for moms and outfits for kids means no last-minute shopping stress for you.

Here’s what you can expect during our time together:

• I’ll dedicate about 15-20 minutes per child. This allows ample time for them to warm up to me, get comfortable with the outfit, and adjust to the lighting.
• The session is relaxed and unhurried. We’ll take breaks as needed, allowing for natural interactions and genuine smiles.
• I’ll guide you through gentle prompts and positions, ensuring everyone looks their best while still feeling at ease.

And remember, there’s no need to worry about getting the “perfect” shot. My goal is to capture the authentic love and connection within your family.

After the Heirloom Session

The excitement continues after our photo session. Here’s what happens next:

1. Proofing Gallery: Three days after your heirloom session, you’ll receive a carefully curated proofing gallery. From this collection, you’ll select your five favorite images.
2. Viewing and Ordering Appointment: We’ll schedule a time for me to visit your home. Together, we’ll:
   • Review your chosen images in detail
   • Select the perfect frames to complement your home decor
   • Decide on the ideal sizes and placements to show off your heirloom artwork

During this appointment, I’ll help you visualize how these heirloom portraits will enhance your living spaces. We’ll consider factors like wall color, existing decor, and the overall feel of each room to ensure your new heirloom photos integrate seamlessly into your home.

3. Delivery and Installation: Approximately six weeks after your ordering appointment, your beautifully framed heirloom artwork will be ready. But my service doesn’t stop there! I personally deliver and install all framed art, ensuring they’re hung perfectly in your home.
