Barrington Hall Roswell Family Photos – Summer Garden

Barrington Hall is a beloved photo spot by many photographers with good reason. The gorgeous white historic home is the perfect backdrop for any photo session and the grounds are a gardener’s dream. Families can pose among vibrant blooms, majestic trees, and classic architecture. Children enjoy running through open spaces, adding joy and energy to photos.

Barrington Hall is located in Roswell, Georgia. It’s a historic home museum that is free and open to the public daily (check for updated hours). The home was built in 1842 for Barrington King, the son of Roswell King, the founder of the city of Roswell. The property features the main building, plus 3 auxiliary buildings – the smoke house, ice house, and a barn.

While summer photo sessions in Atlanta are hot, they are worth it! A family photo session at Barrington Hall creates treasured memories in a breathtaking historical setting. This June we met in the morning for this family session. I suggest starting before 9am in the summer to beat the heat and humidity. The greens are the perfect shade and most of the flowers are in bloom, with shades of pinks, purples, blues, and whites to compliment your outfits. I love the bright, saturated colors of summer that remind me of childhood and add a vibrance to any home’s decor.

When planning your Barrington Hall family photo session, make sure you work with a photographer who has experience working there. Weekday mornings are much less crowded and you’ll have more flexibility at the spots you want to use. You’ll be walking in dewy grass, so I recommend sandals for mom – flat and wedges photograph the best. Opt for closed toe shoes for kids who don’t like wet toes.
